I trained as a doula to deepen my presence as a birth photographer. When I attend a birth, I’m not just there to take photos, I’m there to support, protect, and hold space. I work intuitively and respectfully, always mindful of the energy in the room and the power of oxytocin.

I am a passionate advocate for natural home birth and for supporting your body in doing exactly what it was made to do. Telling your birth story through photography is not just my work, it’s a calling. I do it with deep respect, care, and a belief in your power.

Whether you’re planning a free birth at home (my personal favourite), a hospital birth, or at a birth centre, I will fully support your decisions. I adapt to your needs and birth plan; never intruding, always holding space.
I typically join you in active labour and stay up to two hours after birth, capturing the sacred first moments of your baby’s life. (And yes - I’ve happily napped in a guest room or a sofa just to be there when siblings meet the baby in the morning. It is 100% worth it.)

Birth Photography in Greater Manchester and Surrounding North West Areas
Birth photography is a very specialised and localised service, and I am honoured to offer it to families within a 90-minute radius of Cheadle, SK8. I mainly attend home births, but if you're planning to give birth in a hospital or birth centre, it’s worth checking ahead of time whether photographers are permitted in your chosen facility.
Reliable, 24/7 On-Call Support
When you book me for your birth, I go on call for you 24/7 for up to 5 weeks around your due time. That means my entire schedule, including other shoots, healing clients and personal plans, is adjusted to prioritise your birth. I don’t travel far, I avoid drinking alcohol, I go to bed early, I sleep with my phone on full volume... All this so when your labour starts, I’m fully present and ready to go.

Birth Photography - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
📸 When should a birth photographer arrive?
Please call me when your midwife is on the way, or if you’re planning a free birth, when you’re in active labour with established contractions.
False alarms are absolutely fine. I’d much rather hear from you early than too late, so don’t hesitate to keep me in the loop as things progress. We will be in touch frequently.
🤔 Will photography during labour bother me?
Not at all. We’ll have a clear conversation before your birth about your preferences, boundaries, and comfort level. I will adapt to your space and energy, staying as visible, or invisible, as you need.
Some clients prefer intimate close-ups, others want me to fade into the background. Either way, your wishes always come first.
👕 What should I wear during birth photography?
It’s completely up to you. In my experience, most birthing mothers wear very little, often just a comfy top, sports bra, or nothing at all. The key is comfort and feeling free to move.
If you'd prefer not to be photographed nude, let me know, we’ll plan accordingly.

Yes absolutely. I’ve never met a client who regretted capturing their birth story. These images will hold the power, emotion, and beauty of one of the most important days of your life.
You’ll be amazed how often you'll return to them, especially on days when you need to remember just how strong and incredible you are.
